The SuperHawk STC allows for the conversion (via Penn Yan Aero overhaul) or replacement (with a Lycoming factory new engine) of your 150 or 160 horsepower O-320-E2D, O-320-D2J, or O-320-H2AD engine with a 180 horsepower O-360-A4M engine. The STC includes a new Sensenich propeller, STC paperwork, and all of the hardware needed to complete the. 31,266. To my knowledge, there is no way to convert a 160 HP Lycoming O-320 to 180 HP. However, there are STC's to replace a 160 HP Lycoming O-320 Engine with a 180 HP Lycoming O-360 engine in the Cessna 172, Piper PA28, and Grumman AA-5 and AA-5A . Then I started looking for them on Trade-a-plane and realized that you can buy the whole converted airplane for the cost of the STC. I have found low to mid time engines on nice airplanes for less than $40k I would suggest installing a 180 or 200 hp Lycoming, it's no more work and the accessories and props are readily available. For example, the O-320 STC calls for a Hartzell HC-82XL propeller.
